The European Brain Council marks World Suicide Prevention Day with the release of a summary of Facts and Recommendations on Suicide in Europe. Written over the last couple of months by a working group of suicide experts (listed in the pdf below), the policy summary is released today to mark the awareness day.

More than 150,000 people in Europe die by suicide every year. Increased attention needs to be paid to those who are taking their lives across the continent and across the world. By listing the startling facts and providing strong recommendations to policymakers and other stakeholders, EBC hopes to keep suicide in the conversation and push for continued recognition of the ever-growing number of people that need support.
