This March 2020, EBC is featured in Parliament Magazine with a Thought Leader piece by EBC President, Prof. Monica Di Luca. This time the publication focused on encouraging further leadership from Europe and the European Union in the fight against brain conditions and in the continued quest to understand them. This entails stronger and bolder leadership at both the national and EU levels, to work towards creating an impact in the brain community and to address the urgency of the ever-growing societal and financial burden of brain disorders left uncured and not always well-treated or cared for.
The Thought Leader of Prof. Di Luca was accompanied by a call for strengthened EU vision in addressing brain disorders and prioritizing brain research in the future by MEPs Tomislav Sokol (EPP, HR), Petra De Sutter (Greens/EFA, BE) and Frédérique Ries (Renew, BE). The MEPs highlighted that EU decision makers can play important roles in transforming Europe into a leader in developing new treatments, providing innovation-friendly environments and encouraging and sustaining scientific breakthroughs in the fields of both neurological and mental disorders.
Both pieces can be seen below or can be read in higher definition, HERE.
