What is the cost, and what does it actually feel like to live with a brain disease? This is what A Shaken World investigates — a new podcast series published by the Danish Center for Concussion in collaboration with the Danish Brain Council. The podcast is available for free on all major podcast platforms.

In the first episodes, Peter Øvig Knudsen, Anders Langballe, and Anders Frimann talk to host Anne Sofie Schrøder about how each of them has been affected in the brain. They share their experiences with the healthcare system, talk about losing — and finding — their language, and reflect on how their conditions have changed their love lives and careers. Finally, the four guests, each from different generations, join a debate about diagnostic culture and vulnerability.

Former TV2 editor Anders Langballe describes suffering two strokes that left him barely able to speak. He has regained his language and is once again analysing politics at Christiansborg. Peter Øvig shares his story of healing through electroconvulsive therapy, while author Anders Frimann talks about his recovery from paranoid schizophrenia.

The podcast series A Shaken World is published by the Danish Center for Concussion. The first two episodes are produced in collaboration with the Danish Brain Council and with support from the Victim Fund.
