Key Highlights from EBC’s Participation

On Monday 12 October, Suzanne L. Dickson, President of the European Brain Council (EBC), chaired the plenary lecture on “Rethinking Women’s Brain Health Across the Lifespan: The Power to Change”, delivered by Professor Julia Sacher, who explored the importance of understanding women’s brain health across the lifespan.

The lecture highlighted the need for more inclusive research approaches integrating mechanistic neuroscience and individual hormonal trajectories to advance personalized prevention and treatment and improve women’s brain health across the lifespan. More details here.

On Tuesday 13 October, the European Brain Council’s Campfire Session, “Beyond mental health: innovating schizophrenia prevention and care through a brain health lens,” put the spotlight on the next phase of the Rethinking Schizophrenia project.

Moderated by Prof. Pavel Mohr, the session revisited the project’s three phases and focused on Phase III: Country Profiles — a reality check of national mental health systems, examining how schizophrenia care can move towards earlier intervention, better continuity, and a stronger brain health approach.
