The first congress of the European Alliance for Personalised Medicine (EAPM) was held from 27-30 November in Belfast, UK. The event included contributions from over 200 speakers, who represented a broad range of disciplines and disease areas. Big data, precision care, personalized medicine in clinical trials, health literacy and the balance between patient safety and innovation were among the many topics addressed at the congress.

On the occasion of the gala dinner held on Tuesday the 28th of November, Judge Fidelma Macken, former judge of the Supreme Court of Ireland and the European Court of Justice, shared her views on a number of cases that touched on the domain of personalized medicine.

As part of the session “The Value of Sustainable Healthcare”, EBC Research Project Manager, Giovanni Esposito, delivered a presentation on the outcomes of the Value of Treatment (VoT) Project as well as EBC’s plans to sustain the project as a permanent framework for activities. Furthermore, EBC was represented at the exhibition, during which the VoT White Paper and the EBC Annual Report were distributed among the participants.
