January 2026 marks the official launch of the European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth), following the two-year preparatory ‘Coordination & Support Action (CSA) BrainHealth‘ project. EP BrainHealth is a major initiative involving over 55 partner institutions from more than 30 countries across Europe and beyond, co-funded by the European Commission.

Launched in January 2026, EP BrainHealth is a ten-year partnership with a total planned budget of approximately €500 million. It is one of the largest collaborative efforts in brain research worldwide, and the European Brain Council is looking forward to collaborating in this project through several Work Packages. The partnership shares a common vision of improving brain health for everyone, using scientific knowledge to promote brain health throughout lifetime. It aims to prevent and treat brain diseases, as well as improve the wellbeing of people living with neurological and mental health conditions in Europe and globally.

The partnership will strengthen transnational collaboration as well as increase and better align investments in brain-related research and innovation. Its mission is to promote the translation of research findings into tailored solutions for prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care, accessible to all. EP BrainHealth operates as a coordination platform, bringing together stakeholders along the entire translational pathway to support research, patient and public involvement, innovation and implementation, and to foster strategic alignment and dialogue in the brain health field.
