SUMMARY:Towards a Global Brain Health Data Space - CSA Webinar
DESCRIPTION:With the ultimate goal to preserve and promote brain health in society and to enhance the well-being of people with neurological and mental health conditions in Europe and worldwide\, the Coordination and Support Action (CSA) BrainHealth has been preparing for the launch of a European Partnership for Brain Health. Supported by the European Commission\, the CSA BrainHealth gathers national and regional funders and relevant stakeholders in Europe and beyond\, in close connection with the research community to enable collaboration and a broad dialogue\, paving the way towards the future Partnership. \nThird in a series of webinars aiming at informing global stakeholders about the upcoming Partnership and putting EU brain research on the global stage\, the CSA BrainHealth Webinar “Towards a Global Brain Health Data Space” will take place on 9th of October 2025 at 14:00 – 15:40 CEST. Gathering global actors in brain health\, the webinar will explore regional perspectives and priorities\, together with identifying barriers and opportunities for collaboration towards a global brain health data space. \n\nPractical Details\n \nDate: 9 October 2025\n \n \nTime: 14:00 – 15:40 CEST\n \n \n \nLocation: Online Webinar\n \n \nRegister NowAbout the European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth) \nBrain disorders – neurological and mental alike – are leading causes of mortality and disability globally\, placing a great burden on society as a whole: affecting not only the millions of Europeans affected by a brain condition but their families\, professional and informal carers\, as well as healthcare systems and national economies as a whole. \nTo take on these grand challenges\, a coordinated\, sustainable\, and holistic research and innovation initiative\, the European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth)\, is envisaged as a major joint effort of the European Commission\, Member States and Associated Countries in collaboration with international partners. By capitalising on existing initiatives\, synergies will be formed and links with all relevant stakeholders in the brain health sector and beyond will be strengthened to increase and align efforts and funding. A joint Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the resulting Implementation Plan will provide impetus to brain research\, innovation\, and health care aimed to improve and maintain brain health in society. The expected impact of the EP BrainHealth is an accelerated translation of research results into improved brain health protection- and care-strategies as well as new and better technology for diagnostics and treatment. The harmonisation of approaches and consideration of legal\, social\, and ethical aspects of brain health research will improve the implementation of research results and public health policies. By focusing not only on brain disorders but also on the protection of brain health\, the EP BrainHealth will pave the way towards a healthier society. \nLearn More

SUMMARY:Towards a European Partnership for Brain Health: Priority Setting for the Future of EU-Funding | 38th European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Congress
DESCRIPTION:The fireside chat Towards a European Partnership for Brain Health: Priority Setting for the Future of EU-Funding will take place on 11 October 2025 from 16:40-17:25 at the 38th European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) Annual Congress in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). \nBrain disorders – neurological and mental alike – are widespread\, with approximately 60% of the European population living with a neurological condition and one in six citizens affected by mental ill-health. Due to such a high disease burden and considering the associated costs for society\, the EU and its Member States have made considerable investments in brain research leading to a significant increase of initiatives in this area. \nEffective and efficient collaboration and cooperation is often identified as a key success factor to achieve the full impact of brain research for the wider brain community. There is a constant need for strengthening the information flow and accelerating the exchange of experience on the on-going and future projects as well as maintaining continuous dialogue between all the stakeholder groups and initiatives to allow that objectives are aligned\, and needs are met.\nTo emphasise the significance of brain health and research\, the European Union (EU) has undertaken significant measures to enhance brain research initiatives. With the European Partnership for Brain Health to launch in 2026\, there is a mission to support brain health research and innovation by strengthening transnational collaboration and alignment to enhance understanding of the brain and to promote the translation of results into tailored solutions for prevention\, diagnosis\, treatment and care accessible for all. \nIn this session\, our speakers will discuss the Partnership’s goals and how best to ensure all relevant communities are involved and empowered by the initiative. The audience will be encouraged to participate actively and play a role in the discussion. \nLearn more about the Coordination and Support Action (CSA) BrainHealthMeet the Speakers\nFrédéric Destrebecq \nExecutive Director\, European Brain Council \nSuzanne Dickson \nPresident\, European Brain Council \nAndrei Reif \nFull Professor of Psychiatry\, University Hospital Frankfurt
