SUMMARY:3rd Forum of the Scientific Panel for Health: ‘Enabling health equality in Europe – the role of health research’
DESCRIPTION:Based on interactions with stakeholders during conferences and workshops\, the Scientific Panel for\nHealth set out a vision for the future of health and biomedical research in two consensus documents:\n‘Better Research for Better Health’ in 2016\, and a proposal ‘Building the Future of Health Research’ in\n2018. \nHealth is a fundamental right. Yet health inequalities within Europe and across regions are significant\nand remain present. Can increased engagement with health research inform and support more effective\nprevention measures and improve access to appropriate healthcare\, and thereby reduce inequalities? \nThe forum explores the current situation\, barriers in participation and engagement with health research\,\nand potential ways forward\, with different examples.
