SUMMARY:1st HBP Student Conference
DESCRIPTION:In February 2017\, the Education Programme Office of the Human Brain Project will organise its 1st Student Conference in Vienna\, Austria under the title “Transdisciplinary Research Linking Neuroscience\, Brain Medicine and Computer Science”. \nThe event is going to take place from 8 to 10 February 2017. In the context of the 1st HBP Student Conference\, young researchers from the fields of neuroscience\,brain medicine and computer science receive the possibility to exchange ideas and perspectives and discuss various aspects of their particular fields of expertise relevant to the Human Brain Project. The conference offers a variety of discussion sessions\, lectures and social events. Through working across boundaries and linking the various fields\, it serves as a platform for both intra- and interdisciplinary exchange and is a great opportunity for extensive scientific discussions among peers and faculty\, and also a fertile soil for new\, innovative ideas. \nAll participants may submit an extended abstract and will have the opportunity to present their work. Presentations will include a brief oral presentation\, a poster\, or both. Abstracts to be submitted before 7 October 2016. \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The following EBC meetings have been planned for February 2017. \nAll events will take place at the University Foundation building (Rue d’Egmont 11 – BE 1000 Brussels).\nPlease confirm your participation by filling in the form below by 25th January 2017. \n1. Industry Board Meeting \nWednesday\, 8th February 2017 – 3pm – 6pm\nAttendance: EBC Industry Partners\, EBC Executive Officers \n\n2. Board Dinner\nWednesday\, 8th February 2017\, 7pm – 10pm\nAttendance: Open to everyone \n\n3. Board Meeting\nThursday\, 9th February\, provisional timing 9.30am – 4pm\nAttendance: Restricted to EBC Board Members only\, to include Delegates of EBC Board Members \, Representatives of the Industry Board (2)\, Representatives of the National Brain Councils Academy (2)\, EBC Executive Officers \n  \nA note regarding costs:  In principle\, EBC members are responsible for travel and hotel costs of delegates attending EBC meetings.  If you find that this creates a barrier for your delegates to attend\, however\, please don’t hesitate to raise this with us. \n
