SUMMARY:The Value of Treatment for Brain Disorders (VoT) Closing Conference\, 22 June 2017
DESCRIPTION:The EBC Final Conference on the Value of Treatment for Brain Disorders research project will take place on Thursday 22 June 2017 at 10:00 am\, followed by a reception at 17:15 pm\, held under the auspices of the Maltese EU Presidency. \nThe conference will take place in Hall 400\, The Square Meeting Centre\, 3 Coudenberg\, 1000 Brussels.\n\nThe Conference will focus on 1) addressing the burden of diseases and issues in the current health care system\, the health services delivery and care pathways design and 2) proposing evidence-based and cost-effective solutions to achieve high value for patients. \nEBC will release research conclusions and will launch a Policy White Paper.  The White Paper recommendations will highlight unmet needs\, new research developments\, benefits of seamless care\, and will build on key results from case studies and consultations with experts. \nBrain disorders are highly prevalent and disabling conditions: neuropsychiatric disorders will affect at least one in three European citizens during their lifetime (an estimated 38.2% of the EU population annually). When the brain is damaged\, it can affect different functions of the human body and can lead to disorders impacting both individuals and society. \nThis conference brings together high level representatives of Ministries of Health and Social Affairs\, the European Commission\, WHO\, OECD and other key international institutions\, as well as international experts who are at the forefront of shaping health policy. This includes keynote speeches from Martin Seychell (Deputy Director-General\, Directorate General for Health and Food Safety\, European Commission) and Dr. Line Matthiessen\, Acting Director\, Health Directorate\, Directorate General for Research & Innovation\, European Commission). \nThe full agenda and registration page can be found HERE \nPlease email Stephanie Kramer for further questions or details. \n
